I first watched the Matrix trilogy years ago when I was younger, and honestly, I enjoyed it but didn’t think too deeply about it. Then about a year or two ago, I felt this pull to watch it again, like I needed to understand what it was really trying to say. And let me tell you, I got the clarity I was looking for. Lately, I can’t stop thinking about that film, which is exactly why I’m sitting here writing this.

I’ve seen videos online claiming that the Matrix was secretly telling the story of Jesus, that Neo represents Christ and Morpheus is like John the Baptist announcing His arrival. I get why people say that, and there’s definitely some truth to it. But as I’ve been processing it, I’m realizing something different. To me, Neo isn’t Jesus. Neo is us. He’s me. He’s every believer in Christ.

Think about Neo’s life before everything changed, before he met Morpheus and Trinity. He was going through the motions, living his ordinary life, but deep down he knew there had to be more. He kept showing up to his job, doing what he was supposed to do, but there was this constant discontent eating away at him. He was waiting for something to change, even though he didn’t know what that something was.

That’s exactly how I feel so many of us are as believers. Ephesians 1:4 tells us we were predestined, chosen before the world even existed to be holy and set apart for God. So when we’re living below that calling, when we’re just going through the motions, we feel it. There’s this heaviness, this sense that something’s off. But at the same time, we’re also kind of used to the mundane. It’s comfortable in a weird way. We know how to do “normal” even when normal feels soul crushing.

Then one day, completely unexpectedly, something happens. Someone crosses your path, or you have an experience that wakes something up inside you. For Neo, it was meeting Trinity. For us as believers, it can be hearing a message that pierces straight through you, or meeting someone whose faith is so real it makes you question everything, or having an encounter with God that you can’t explain or shake off.

No matter what it is, the fact is, once that awakening happens, you can’t unsee it. You can try to go back to how things were. God knows I’ve tried. But it’s impossible. You’ve tasted something real, and suddenly everything else feels like fake, feels wrong. And the frustrating part? The moment you start waking up, it’s like you also wake up every force out there that wants to keep you asleep. There are real spiritual battles that intensify when you start stepping into who you’re meant to be. It’s like the enemy goes, “Oh no, she’s figuring it out. We need to distract her, discourage her, do whatever it takes to get her back to sleepwalking.”

The more I think about it, the more convinced I am that we, the people of God, are Neo. I am Neo. By God’s Grace and Mercy, I had a moment of awakening, and ever since then, I haven’t been able to live the way I used to. I’ve tried so many times to just be “normal,” to care about the things everyone else cares about, to chase the same things they chase. But it all feels empty. Actually, it’s worse than empty. It’s painful. Because once you’ve been awakened to the truth, the illusion stops working.

There’s this powerful scene in the Matrix where Neo actually dies, and then comes back to life. He had to be willing to sacrifice everything, and when he did, he came back completely transformed. He wasn’t the same guy anymore.

Jesus talks about this all the time with His disciples. He said we have to be willing to lose our lives in this world to truly find life.

Matthew 16:25 - “For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will find it.”

In John 12:24-25, Jesus gets even more specific:

“Very truly I tell you, unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds. Anyone who loves their life will lose it, while anyone who hates their life in this world will keep it for eternal life.”

I think about how often Scripture compares us to seeds and trees. Psalm 92:13 says, “Those who are planted in the house of the Lord shall flourish in the courts of our God.” But here’s the thing about planting: the seed has to die first. It has to break open, give up what it was, so it can become something so much bigger, a whole tree that bears fruit and provides life.

If I’m going to become everything God created me to be, there has to be a death. Not a physical death, but a death to the life I’ve been clinging to. Death to trying to fit in. Death to chasing things that don’t matter. Death to who I thought I was supposed to be based on what the world told me.

It’s scary, honestly. Because dying to those things means stepping into the unknown. But on the other side of that death is real life, life in the Spirit that isn’t limited by fear, by what people think, by the exhausting cycle of trying to find meaning in things that were never meant to satisfy me.

We are all on a journey. And our Lord God and King, Jesus is actively working to wake us from our sleep.

And just like Neo, once you’ve taken that red pill, and awakened to the truth, there’s no going back. There’s only moving forward into the fullness of who you were always meant to be.

In Luke 4 and Matthew 4, we read that Jesus was led by the Holy Spirit into the wilderness, where He was tempted by the devil after fasting for forty days and nights. You would think that because the wilderness was a place of hardship, Jesus would avoid it. Yet in Luke 5:16, it says that Jesus often went into the wilderness to pray. This made me pause and ask myself, Why didn’t Jesus choose a quiet room instead? Why the wilderness?

As I pondered on this, the answer came to me; Jesus understood the value hidden in the wilderness. Even though it was a place of trial and temptation, it was also where He was surrounded by the glory of His Father.

Today, I sense the Lord calling me to embrace the wilderness periods of my life, those moments filled with trials and temptations, and to see His glory there. My greatest heart cry today is to see His glory in every area of my life, especially in the difficult places.

I have become more awakened more than ever, to the truth that I am greatly limited in life by my lack of true sight and this upsets me.

Isaiah 6:3 says that the whole earth is filled with the glory of God. This passage is exciting and also upsetting to me because whenI read this, I ask myself, if that’s true (and I know it is) why don’t I always see the glory of God on the earth?

I know very well that the answer is that my perspective is often clouded by challenges and difficulties. Because when I fix my gaze on Him, I begin to see His glory everywhere. The Angels who spoke in Isaiah 6:3, could say that the earth is filled with the glory of God, because they were always in God’s presence. His presence is what they were always beholding before anything else.

For this reason, Jesus our Lord, while on earth often went into the wilderness because the same place where He faced great temptations was where He was closest to the Father without distractions.

That is what I long for, to stop running from the wilderness and instead see His glory in it. And to return there often, because in the wilderness is where I know I’m closest to Him. But it also scares me deeply.

“And now I entrust you to God and to the word of His grace, which is able to build you up and to give you the inheritance among all those who are sanctified.” - Acts 20:32 NASB

In that moment, Holy Spirit began to speak to me, as He often does through His Word. He reminded me that His grace has been poured out upon us as a result of the price that was paid on the cross, through the shedding of Jesus’ blood.

Yet, for some reason, many of His people continue to pray amiss. We keep asking Him for what He has already given, grace.

When we read through the Apostles’ epistles, we see a consistent pattern, they often open and close their letters with the greeting, “Grace and peace to you” (see Romans 1:7, Ephesians 1:2, Philippians 1:2). These greetings reflects their deep understanding that grace has already been poured out upon those who believe on the Lord Jesus.

When Paul pleaded with the Lord to take away the thorn in his flesh, Jesus responded, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness” (2 Corinthians 12:9). The Lord’s response here shows the same truth that God’s grace has already been given, and in our moments of weakness, we simply need to take hold of it.

Today, we as children of God are commanded to “come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need” (Hebrews 4:16). We are not told to ask for what we already have but to receive what has already been made available. And our “time of need” is not just when we face great trials or difficulties; our time of need is daily, hourly, moment by moment.

So every time we pray, whether in the Spirit or in our understanding, we should declare:

“Lord, I receive Your grace for this moment.”

“I am weak, but You are strong in me.”

Two things we never had before the cross, but have now received freely through Jesus our Lord, are grace and peace. Before the cross, we had no peace with God because of sin and the curse. For the Jews, this meant a continual need for animal sacrifices. For us Gentiles, there was no hope at all. But now, through the cross, “we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ” (Romans 5:1), and His grace has been abundantly poured out (Ephesians 1:7–8).

Today and always, let us never forget that we have full access to God’s abundant grace. We do not need to ask for it as though we do not have it, we need to receive it.

Every day, in every moment, let us come boldly before our Father and take hold of the grace that is ours in Christ.

Order "Knowing God in the Quiet" Book

This book was not birthed from a desire to become an author, nor was it part of a long-term plan. It came from a deeply personal place, during my quiet times with the Lord over the past three years.

In 2022, the Lord impressed upon my heart to begin writing down the insights, instructions, and revelations He was giving me during my personal time with Him. What started as simple journaling out of obedience, has now unfolded into a journey I never expected.

As I continued to write, the Lord began to reveal things in my life that needed to change. There were “good” things (habits) that I had grown comfortable with, but in His loving correction, He showed me that not every good thing is necessarily a “God thing.”

This has been a difficult but liberating truth.

Walking closely with Him has meant learning to release even good things that were not part of His will for me. It meant letting go of my comfort, to embrace the quiet and often hidden, work He was doing within my heart.

Throughout this journey, God has been faithful to provide insight on many areas of life, His Purpose on the earth, His Will, Our purpose in Him, obedience, spiritual warfare and so much more. Knowing God in the Quiet is an invitation to slow down, to be still, and to intentionally make space for God to speak.

My prayer is that as you read, you will be encouraged to cultivate your own quiet moments with Him and discover how He desires to guide you in ways that will surprise you.

From Physical Warfare to Spiritual Warfare

In the book of Acts we see Holy Spirit working in a similar way with the disciples and the Lord’s chosen apostles. This time it is spiritual warfare. The weapons once taught to the children of Israel for physical use against their enemies are now being taught to the same covenant people for spiritual use. These spiritual weapons are the true weapons. This has always been the goal.

Why do we so easily forget that our Lord Jesus is the Lord of Heavens Armies?

Story Time

This morning during a quiet moment, not my devotional time because that was already finished. I always enjoy my quiet times during the early hours of the day, so I wake up extra early so I can have these cherished time. I was reading one of my favorite books and came across a reference to a battle in 1774 that helped lead to Americas independence. A line read, “Hold your fire until they are upon us”.

As soon as I read it Holy Spirit brought to mind the moment when the Lord Jesus appeared to Joshua while Joshua was preparing for battle. Joshua asked, Are you for us or for our enemies? The answer was, Neither. I come as commander of the army of the Lord.

In that reminder the Lord impressed on me that we always win when we stand with Him. We are not to fight from our own side, for our own cause or even for what we believe. We are also not to fight with our attention fixed on the enemy. Victory in every conflict comes from knowing where the Lords side is and taking our stand there.

The hard truth we often resist, because it is uncomfortable to think about, is that the Lord never fights on our side. He fights on His side. He calls us to come to Him, to fight with Him. He does not move to us. We move to Him. From His side, we are to stand and watch Him secure victory.

Our Battleground

I am concerned that many believers today still need to learn the art and act of warfare. The Lord taught it to Israel after the days of Joshua for those who had never fought and He taught it to the disciples as spiritual warfare.

Spiritual warfare takes place in prayer. We hold our position and hold our fire in prayer. (Read Ephesians 6:10-18 & 2 Corinthians 10:3-5).

We wage war while wearing the whole armor of God at all times, as Paul wrote in Ephesians 6. We stand in prayer knowing that the battle belongs to the Lord, not to us. The book of Acts shows this repeatedly, though sadly, we often read it only as stories. Every time the people of God were attacked they prayed. They also prayed before and after conflict. Then they waited for direction from their War General, Holy Spirit, before taking action.

My prayer today is that the Lord begins to teach us the art and the act of warfare. It is a scary prayer, because in both the Old and the New Testament the people of God learned warfare by facing real enemies. May He prepare us to stand with Him.

God is Holy (1 Peter 1:16) and God is Spirit (John 4:24). The Book of Revelation (one of my favorite books in the Bible) gives a different insight of God that He is not just Holy, He is “Holy, Holy, Holy” (Rev. 4:8). Meaning the highest possibility of Holiness that can be imagined, God is that, plus more.

Because He is Holy, He cannot (not will not, He cannot) commune with or be united to the fallen nature of the flesh(our sinful, carnal nature). Why? Because the flesh is always in direct opposition to God’s holiness and righteousness.

Romans 8:7-8 states, “..the mind set on the flesh is hostile toward God; for it does not subject itself to the law of God, for it is not even able to do so, and those who are in the flesh cannot please God.”

For this reason, God, the Righteous and Holy Judge condemned the flesh to death. And in His Justice, Love & Mercy sent Jesus to pay the penalty.

Through the cross, the flesh was crucified (Galatians 5:24; Romans 6:6). Christ’s death marked the end of the rule of the flesh for those who believe. Yet, even though the victory has already been won, we are called to live that reality out daily. We live out this reality daily by the choices we make.

In my last post, I shared with you why your daily choices matter. We are to choose daily to walk not by the flesh, but by the Spirit (Romans 8:12–14). This is why Paul states in 1 Corinthians 15:31 “…I die daily”.

We are no longer to operate from the influence of the flesh, because it is a dead thing.

To be led by the flesh is to resist the very life of God that dwells within us.

God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in Spirit and in truth (John 4:24). The flesh cannot worship God, cannot please God (Romans 8:8), and has no place in intimate fellowship with a Holy, Set-Apart, and Righteous God. Our communion with Him must come from our spirit, where the life of Holy Spirit governs every part of us.

Therefore, as followers of Christ, we are called to live from the finished work of the cross, from the posture of having died to the flesh. Only then can we truly walk in step with the Spirit and experience the fullness of God’s presence and power in our lives.

Every time you find yourself walking in fleshly indulgence, you have removed yourself from the kingdom of God and given the enemy free access to operate and attack.

Return to me today.

Every action you take daily either draws you closer to Me in My Kingdom, or pulls you away from Me into the kingdom of darkness.

I set before you this day life and death, blessing and curses. Choose life that you and your family may live.

I truly believe we serve a God who never changes. He said of Himself in Malachi 3:6, “For I am the LORD, I do not change; Therefore you are not consumed, O sons of Jacob.” And He is longing to reveal Himself in the same way He did in the Scriptures for all those who truly believe.

The same God, who spoke through dreams in the Bible, both to His people and to adversaries, is the same God we serve today. However, we live in a time where many people dismiss dreams as irrelevant.

For years, I have always known that the Lord speaks to me through dreams, but I have not always done a good job of stewarding His messages to me.

As I mentioned previously, the year 2022, marked a turning point in my walk with the Lord and one of the stirring I had in my heart was to begin writing my dreams and I have been doing so since then.

Sometimes I get a direct interpretation of the dream and then I write it down immediately so I do not forget. Unfortunately, there are many more dreams i’ve had, where I get no interpretation but I also write them down for future references.

The Dream:

Today, I will be sharing a dream I had two years ago, on October 21st 2023

In the dream I saw a coven of witches and wizards, who all looked like regular people but they were gathered together for one purpose - to kill me.

We were at a place (I don’t know where) but I was being pursued by them non-stop. Animals were used to chase me, snipers were used as well, but they kept missing.

The last scene I remember was a crowded space where I clearly saw the blue pointer of a sniper trying to steady on me for a shot, but as always, it could never get the shot.

At the end, I spoke to one of the wizards (again, he looked like a regular black man) and I told him that he should consider switching sides and come to Jesus.

Interpretation:

The Lord is saying and showing me that I am a terror to the kingdom of darkness. There is a war raging and underway in the spiritual realm and the enemy is attacking those who stand with Jesus Christ. But they have no power, they are already defeated.

The Lord gave me a glimpse into what is happening in the spiritual realm, not for me to be fearful, but to stand strong and see the salvation of the Lord.

He is the one who saves me and His people.

God is saying, “There is a warfare taking place, you are in it but I am with you”

Isaiah 53:5 says, “The chastisement for our peace was upon Him.”

Chastisement means punishment. Peace has a price. And Jesus paid it. For us to receive true peace, Jesus had to bear the punishment that was ours. He took on the weight of our sin, shame, and separation, so that we could receive His peace.

This is a peace that flows from the finished work of Christ.

Before He went to the cross, Jesus told His disciples:

“Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”

— John 14:27

He spoke this knowing what lay ahead. The betrayal. The agony. The crucifixion. But He also spoke it knowing what His death and resurrection would accomplish for us. He was leaving us with something many of us still struggle to fully grasp, which is the unshakable, blood-bought peace of God.

In John 20:19, Jesus appeared to His disciples and simply said, “Peace be with you.”

And again in verse 21: “Peace to you! As the Father has sent Me, I also send you.”

And in Luke 24:36, once again, His first words to the gathered disciples were:

“Peace to you.”

In His repetition, Jesus was emphasizing the gift He had paid for. A gift they now had freely. A gift we now have.

Paul later expands on this truth in Ephesians 2:14, declaring,

“For He Himself is our peace.”

Today, our true peace is found in Jesus. When we receive Jesus, we receive peace. We receive Jehovah Shalom, The God is who our Peace. The Permanent Presence of God in us.

The peace Jesus bought for with His blood, gives us full reconciliation with God, with ourselves, and with others.

Through the cross, He tore down every barrier and through His resurrection, He secured our promise.

Romans 5:1 states, “Therefore, since we have been justified by by faith, we have peace with God through Jesus Christ, our Lord.”

This is the peace we’re invited to live in.

This is the peace we’re called to walk in.

It was finished on the cross. It is finished today. And now, it is ours.

Walk in Peace today.

This morning, the Lord reminded me of something I want to remind you of as well, the power of prayer.

In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth (Genesis 1:1). In the process of creation, God spoke to Himself and by His Word, all things came into being. He also gave man authority over creation: Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground” (Genesis 1:26).

We were given dominion over the earth. And because this authority is from God, a similar process of speaking is needed for God to move on the earth. We must speak to God for Him to act. He is waiting for His people, those called by His Name, to exercise our authority and speak over the earth.

Share Knowing God in the Quiet

Our authority comes from our submission to God; without Him, we have no true authority. God is subject to no one, so in the act of creation, He spoke to Himself. We, on the other hand, are subject to God, so in our exercise of dominion, we must speak to Him in prayer for Him to move.

In 2022, the Lord Jesus spoke to me and said, “I died for so much more than what you are living for.” And today, during prayer, the Lord reminded me again: “I died to give you back your authority on the earth.”

This is why prayer is vital. And this is also why the enemy will do everything possible to keep us from praying. When we pray, we are exercising the authority God has given us, and we are inviting Him to move.

“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened to you” (Matthew 7:7). This process of asking, seeking, and knocking happens in the place of prayer.

This is what God is waiting for from His people: “Men ought always to pray and not to faint” (Luke 18:1).

So pray.

Many immigrants know this experience all too well: you arrive in a new country, and the name you once wore with pride becomes a burden. Why? Because people around you choose not to learn how to say it properly. And in the quiet, unspoken desire to fit in, you compromise. You pick a nickname—not just to make it easier for others, but unknowingly, to make yourself more acceptable. In doing so, you start to lay down a piece of your identity.

But your name carries weight.

We don’t always realize this when we trade our God-given names for ones that are easier to pronounce. In high school, I did exactly that. I went from Ejirooghene—which means “Praise be to God”—to Ejiro, and eventually to EJ.

Lately, God has been stirring something in me. I began to feel convicted. I sensed the Lord saying, “You’ve forgotten who I created you to be.” I’ve always loved to sing and worship, but the meaning of my name goes beyond just the act of singing—it’s a calling to live a life that brings praise and glory to God, no matter my situation. Somewhere along the way, I lost sight of that.

When life got hard, I started shrinking back. I stopped using my gifts and let discouragement silence me.

Yet Scripture reminds us of the intentionality of names. All throughout the Bible, names are given with purpose, tied to a person’s destiny and God’s plan for their life. The name Jesus was not random—it was revealed to Mary by the angel, Gabriel:

“She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.” —Matthew 1:21

“The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel (which means ‘God with us’).” —Isaiah 7:14

God is precise. Purposeful. And the same goes for you and me.

When the Lord reminded me to reclaim my name, I listened. I began telling friends and family that I’d like to be called Ejiro again. I thought it would be hard for people, especially strangers. But here’s what I learned: people will call you whatever you choose to be called. It’s your decision. You set the standard—and others follow.

Ironically, the people who had the hardest time adjusting were the ones closest to me. But I have continued to emphasize my name.

So, if you’ve let go of your name—if you’ve made yourself smaller just to make others more comfortable—I encourage you to reclaim it. Unless your name carries a meaning that directly opposes who God has called you to be. Your name matters. Your name has weight. Your name carries divine intention.

Don’t drop it.

Share Knowing God in the Quiet

I’ve been paying attention to the way my children interact with me and their dad. They often seek to be close to us as much as possible. They don’t look for a platform to impress anyone or earn anything. What they want—more than anything—is to be close. They crawl into my lap without asking. They hold my hand. They sit next to me just because they want to. They feel safe with us. Known. Loved. Children, like my little daughter will come close to me, simply to say, “I love you mommy”.

They love to see me smile and feel sad when I’m hurting—not because they want my approval, but because they love me. They don’t love us because we do everything perfectly (far from it). They love us simply because we’re theirs. And in return, they don’t question if they are loved. They know—deep down—that our love for them is secure.

They tell us everything—their questions, their dreams, their frustrations, the random thoughts in their heads. Sometimes it’s beautiful. Sometimes it’s exhausting. (I’ll be honest: I’ve had days when I didn’t think I could take one more “Mommmyyyyy!”)

But even when I’m worn out, something about those moments speaks to me. Because I know my Father in Heaven is never tired of hearing from me.

In fact, He longs for it.

He wants my whole heart—not just my prayer requests or crisis moments, but the real, unfiltered me. The parts I think are too small, too messy, or too repetitive. He isn’t like me in my weak moments—tired and stretched thin.

And I wonder how often I forget that.

How often do I come to God like a weary adult—trying to get the words just right, trying to be efficient, trying to “earn” time with Him—when what He wants is for me to come like my kids come to me?

Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” — Matthew 19:14 (NIV)

That wasn’t just a cute moment in scripture. It was an invitation. A reminder that there is something about childlike faith that reveals the heart of God more than intellect or effort ever could.

I want to be the kind of daughter who climbs into her Father’s arms without hesitation. Who shares her heart freely. Who loves not because I need something, but because I’ve already been given everything.

And I want to raise my kids to do the same.

Share Knowing God in the Quiet

This is something I’ve had to ground myself in repeatedly—especially in seasons where I’m pulled in many directions. I wear a lot of hats throughout my week: I’m a wife, a mom, a management consultant serving clients at my firm, a ministry leader at church, and a worship leader. Every role matters. But above all of them, the one that defines everything else is this:

I am a disciple of Jesus Christ.

And that truth makes my spiritual position clear.

My Position: I Am in Christ

My life is hidden in Christ. And because of that, His authority is accessible to me as I stay connected to Him (Abide in Him).

Scripture says I am seated with Christ in heavenly places, far above all principalities and powers (Ephesians 2:6). This is not a symbolic, abstract theology, it is a spiritual reality. And it is the starting point of everything I can walk out in the physical world.

Your spiritual position is the starting point of everything that is available to you in the physical realm (our world today).

What Does That Look Like in Real Life?

Honestly? It looks like:

• Dishes in the sink.

• Kids having meltdowns.

• Projects due.

• Emails to answer.

• Spiritual battles (in the mind) that no one else sees.

And yet, in all of that:

• I don’t fight from the ground—I fight from victory.

• I’m not striving to earn authority—I already have it in Christ.

• I don’t live by my feelings or flesh—because that part of me was crucified with Christ.

The Enemy’s Tactic: Keep You Unaware

The sad reality is that the enemy knows this truth too. And he works tirelessly to make sure you don’t. His goal is to keep believers like you and me ignorant of our authority, distracted by life, and disconnected from truth.

This is why Jesus says in Mark 4:19 that the “cares of this world, the deceitfulness of riches and the desires of other things chokes the word, and it becomes unfruitful”

Because if you don’t know your power, you can’t walk in it.

You’ll live anxious, frustrated, or defeated—not because you lack victory, but because you’ve forgotten that it’s already yours.

Ecclesiastes 10:7 describes this dynamic so clearly:

“I have seen slaves on horses, and princes walking on the ground like slaves.”

A prince who does not know he is a prince will continue to live like a slave until he is awakened to the reality of who he truly is and the power he holds.

This is why, the Word says:

“[He] has made us kings and priests to His God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.”
— Revelation 1:6

We’re not spiritual beggars.
We are a kingdom of priests and rulers under the authority of Christ.

The enemy wants you blind to your spiritual authority, so you’ll live powerless lives, even though Jesus already paid for your freedom.

It’s Time to Wake Up

There’s a call going out in the spirit right now—an urgent one:

Wake up.
Wake up to who you are in God.
Wake up to where you’re seated.
Wake up to the power and authority that already belongs to you.

“Awake, O sleeper, and arise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.”
— Ephesians 5:14

You don’t have to live as if you’re defeated.
You don’t have to strive for what’s already been given.
You are seated in power.
Now, walk in it.

When Christ is placed at the center of a marriage, that union becomes the fullness of God’s image on the earth.

“A man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.”
(Genesis 2:24; Ephesians 5:31)

This isn’t just about physical separation from parents. It’s about a new pursuit. A man leaves so he can go after his bride—the one he loves. This pursuit is a picture of what Christ did for us. He left His place in heaven, where He was in eternal communion with the Father, and came to pursue us, His Bride.

And what did He do once He found us?

He laid down His life.

He gave Himself entirely to restore us, redeem us, and make us one with Him. The oneness between Christ and the Church is so intimate, so complete. When we see Christ, we should see His Church. And when we see the Church, we should see Christ.

Though Christ and His Bride are distinct, they are also One.

This divine pattern is not isolated to salvation—it’s embedded in the nature of God Himself. Our God is One, yet He is Triune: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Distinct, yet united. In the same way, man and woman, in marriage, are distinct—yet called to become one.

The Image of God in Marriage

When God said, “Let Us make man in Our image,” He was speaking from the unity of the Trinity. And how did He create mankind?

“Male and female He created them.” (Genesis 1:27)

God’s image is not fully revealed in man alone. Nor in woman alone. It is revealed in their union—in covenant, in love, in mutual submission, with Christ at the center.

This is why the enemy wages such an aggressive war against marriage.

Because marriage—God’s way—is a direct, visual representation of His nature. Every time a husband and wife walk in unity, in oneness of heart and mind, they reveal the glory of God on the earth.

And every time I, as a wife, choose to stay united with my husband—even when it’s hard—I’m choosing to protect and reflect the image of God.

Why the Enemy Fights Marriage

The enemy is after one thing: the image of God on earth.
That’s why we’re seeing increasing attacks on marriage, on biblical manhood and womanhood, and on the Church itself. The image of Christ and His Bride terrifies the enemy—because it carries glory, authority, and eternal purpose.

The man and the woman alone do not carry that image. But together, in holy union, they do.

That’s why God said, “It is not good for man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.” (Genesis 2:18)

In marriage, man and woman are joined together in a mystery that points directly to heaven.

A Final Word

Every time I reject disunity, every time I fight for oneness in my marriage, I’m resisting the schemes of the enemy. I’m protecting what God made to reflect His glory.

My role as a wife is sacred.

Marriage isn’t just about love and happiness. It’s about revealing God’s nature to the world.

So let’s protect it.
Let’s honor it.
Let’s fight for it.

Because when we do, we reflect heaven on earth.

Jesus didn’t only die for us—He lived for us.

He lived on the earth as fully God, yet fully human. And during His time here, He lived entirely sinless. That fact alone is breathtaking.

Consider this: His death upon the cross only had significance because He was the blameless and spotless Lamb, who never gave into earthly weakness - sin.

In Matthew 4, We are told that Jesus was taken into the wilderness by the Holy Spirit—but not accidentally, but deliberately—to be tempted by the Devil. He didn’t bypass that. He went through it.

Why? Because His purpose while He lived here on earth included facing every temptation that any human being would ever experience. And yet, He did not commit any sin.

Let that sink in for a moment. The Savior of the world faced temptation—and resisted.

And the greatest part is, He did this not only to demonstrate His divinity, but to demonstrate what is possible for us when we are led and empowered by the Holy Spirit.

That same Holy Spirit resides in us today.

As I sat with this in the days that followed, I felt the Lord quietly speaking to my heart. He showed me that there are places—assignments, opportunities, even levels of spiritual authority—I won’t be able to step into until I’ve first faced and overcome certain temptations. Until I’ve let Him deal with the sin that so easily trips me up.

And here’s the part that is stretching: sometimes, God allows us to be led into places where we’ll face temptation. Not because He tempts us—He never does that. But because He wants to empower us. He’s after growth. Maturity. A deeper walk with Him.

I kept going back to that moment in Luke 4, when Jesus walked out of the wilderness “in the power of the Spirit.” That wasn’t just about His identity—it was about preparation. He came out of that season filled with divine power. And that same Spirit—the Holy Spirit—is alive in us today.

But here’s what I’m learning: we don’t often get to experience the fullness of the Spirit without walking through a few wildernesses of our own. Those moments of testing, of pressure, of feeling like we’re barely holding on… they’re not wasted. They’re often the doorway into the next thing God has for us.

Jesus has set the example—and now He invites us in.

Living a sinless life isn’t about perfectionism. It’s about abiding. Abiding in Jesus. Trusting the Spirit. Walking with Him daily, moment by moment. He didn’t just save us for eternity—He empowered us for today.

Share Knowing God in the Quiet

When Melchizedek blessed Abraham, that blessing didn’t stop with him—it flowed down to Levi and his descendants. Why? Because Levi was still in Abraham at the time of the blessing.

Now pause and think about this.

In the same way, the curse that came upon Adam through the fall was passed down to all of humanity. Why? Because we were all in Adam when he sinned.

But here’s the glorious news:

The blessing that is on Jesus now flows to all who are in Him.
This marks the beginning of a new kind of humanity—not born of Adam, but born of Christ.

Because of Jesus, the curse of Adam is broken.
We are no longer under a curse—as long as we remain in Christ.

Let this sink in:

• Jesus’s death was my death.

• Jesus’s resurrection was my resurrection.

• His new life is the source of my life.

• My old self—my sinful nature—was crucified with Him.

• The life I now live is by the grace given to me through Christ Jesus.

Through Him, I am restored to fellowship with the Father.
But apart from Christ, I am dead—still walking in darkness.

Key truth to remember:

“There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.”
— Romans 8:1

“I died for so much more than what you’ve been living for.”

Those words echoed through me, louder than anything I’d heard before. As someone who had walked with Jesus for as long as I could remember, I thought I understood what it meant to follow Him. I believed in His sacrifice, trusted His promises, and shaped my life around what I knew of Him. But those words shook me to my core. They exposed something I didn’t realize had settled into my heart—a kind of spiritual complacency. I had been living a safe, comfortable version of faith, unaware that I was missing the very life Jesus died to give me.

It was the unraveling of a faith built around comfort and familiarity, and the beginning of something raw, real, and deeply refining. This journey hasn’t been easy. It has pulled me out of my assumptions, challenged my beliefs, and exposed how much I still have to learn. But with every step, Holy Spirit has drawn me closer—closer to truth, closer to conviction, and closer to the heart of God.

I began to see scripture differently. Verses I had read a hundred times began to open up in new ways. Holy Spirit started to reveal insights I never would have reached on my own. And I realized—this journey wasn’t just about me. It was about the call that rests on all of us who follow Jesus: to live a life that reflects His sacrifice. To live for more.

This has led me to start putting together collection of truths revealed to me during this process. They aren’t complete, and I’m far from finished learning. But what I share here has been tested in quiet places—through prayer, through surrender, and through the slow, steady work of transformation. These reflections are for anyone who senses that there is more to their faith than what they’ve been living.

Writing this, is part of my own growth, a step of obedience in response to what God is doing in me. If it draws you closer to Him—if it awakens something in you—then it’s done what it was meant to do.
